I was born in Coventry in the early 1950's and began writing poetic song lyrics at school, branching out in to poetry, performance poetry and short stories along the way. Influences were the usual suspects for those times - Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Pete Brown (who wrote lyrics for the Cream, Pete Sinfield (lyricist with King Crimson), The Liverpool Poets - Roger McGough, Adrian Henri and Brian Patten, the beat Poets, James Joyce, Dostoevsky, Pushkin, Dylan Thomas and so many more!

Along the way I was involved with the Coventry Music Scene in the 1970's, running venues and editor of Hobo (Coventry Music and Arts Magazine), I moved to Teesside in 1980 to do a degree in Humanities, working with Community Arts Middlesbrough, the Workers' Educational Association, Leeds University Adult Education and building a thriving literary / Creative Writing scene on Teesside and area, working as a Creative Writing Tutor for 15 years, editing a poetry magazine Outlet, running poetry and music venues, initiating the annual write Around festival and the Merlin's Cauldron Arts Festival and much more.

I went out as a singer songwriter and performance poet, wrote songs for local bands and one with Pete waterman in the 70's before he was famous.

This site is for my poetry / flash fiction poetry books. I write mainly now on social media and collate all the pieces into my ebooks. You will find them on the main page and can read them on line or download them free if you click the links. Hopefully they are fun, surreal and interesting. I've made them available as so many people asked to collate them together in books so they read them as a collection.
